Who we are
We are a team of product builders, educators, researchers and SEND specialists working to make screening clearer, faster and more useful for schools.
Talamo is used by over 1,000 UK schools and has screened over 20,000 pupils. Our dyslexia screener is signposted by the British Dyslexia Association, and we are now expanding the platform to support broader SEND identification and provision planning.
Why we do it
We believe every pupil with SEND should be identified earlier and supported more clearly.
Schools are under growing pressure to understand need, evidence support and plan provision across whole cohorts. Talamo exists to make that easier, giving teachers, SENCos and trust leaders the information they need to act sooner.
How we do it
Talamo combines digital screening tasks, standardised assessment design and clear reporting.
Our platform covers dyslexia and cognition, maths difficulties and dyscalculia risk, and executive functioning. It helps schools understand both individual pupils and patterns across wider cohorts.
The goal is simple: help schools identify, understand and plan with confidence.

Founder, CEO
Jamie founded Talamo after his own experience of dyslexia showed him how powerfully early identification can change a pupil’s confidence and direction.
He leads Talamo’s vision, strategy and growth, with a focus on making high-quality SEND screening accessible, understandable and useful to every school and family.
Sales
Joanna leads Talamo’s outbound growth, helping schools and trusts understand how earlier screening can strengthen SEND support.
A former teacher, she combines first-hand classroom experience with commercial drive. Since joining Talamo, she has played an important role in expanding the platform’s reach across UK schools.
Partnerships
Emma leads Talamo’s partnerships with schools, multi-academy trusts, local authorities and organisations across the SEND sector.
She brings more than 20 years of education experience, including work as a teacher and inclusion leader and in SEND at GL Assessment. She helps ensure Talamo’s work reflects the realities facing schools.
Engineering
Paul helps lead the technical development of Talamo’s platform.
He brings experience from Deliveroo, Robin AI and Sky, alongside a strong record of building successful digital products. His focus is creating secure, dependable technology that can support interactive assessments, automated reporting and thousands of pupils at scale.
Sales, Ops, Strategy
Mark works across Talamo’s commercial, operational and strategic priorities, helping turn new ideas into practical delivery.
His role spans customer experience, internal projects and growth initiatives, supporting the founders as Talamo expands its platform and reach across schools.
Engineering
Ali develops the test experience and the tools used by schools across Talamo’s platform.
He brings more than eight years of front-end engineering experience, with particular expertise in JavaScript and building clear, responsive digital products. His work makes complex assessment technology feel simple and intuitive.
SME Maths and Literacy
Janet leads the specialist development of Talamo’s maths ability and dyscalculia screening content.
She has more than 20 years of teaching and specialist SEND experience and chaired SASC’s working group on maths difficulties and dyscalculia. Her expertise ensures Talamo’s assessments reflect current research and real classroom practice

Talamo has a strategic content agreement with Riverside and has adapted elements of its established Woodcock-Johnson assessment content for digital delivery, combining trusted assessment design with automated scoring and accessible reporting.
The British Dyslexia Association works to create a dyslexia-friendly society in which dyslexic people of all ages can reach their potential.
Talamo’s dyslexia screener is signposted by the BDA, and we work together to raise awareness, strengthen earlier identification and improve understanding of dyslexia in schools and families.

Create Growth funding has supported Talamo’s research and development as we expand beyond dyslexia into broader digital SEND screening and support tools.
Talamo was selected as the winner of the 2025 BCG X Social Impact Accelerator.
Over an intensive ten-week programme, a multidisciplinary BCG X team worked with Talamo on its growth strategy, product development and AI-enabled reporting systems, helping the company build stronger foundations for scale.
