About Talamo

Talamo is building a school assessment platform for Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, helping schools respond to a growing crisis affecting 1 in 5 children.

Our platform puts accurate, automated screening assessments directly into the hands of schools, giving them a clearer view of need across pupils, classes and year groups.

We started with dyslexia screening, launching our first test in 2024. Since then, Talamo has grown to over 1,000 schools. From September 2026, we are moving from a single dyslexia screener into a broader suite of digital cognitive screeners. We have created new assessments for maths ability, dyscalculia risk and executive functioning.

Taken together, these assessments help schools understand patterns of SEND need across their setting, supported by new cohort reports that allow them to analyse entire year groups. This makes our new proposition differentiated in the market, particularly as SEND becomes an increasing priority for schools, Ofsted and government policy.

Talamo has now reached an important inflection point. Since announcing our new platform, ready for September, we have broken even, growth is accelerating, and we expect to beat our targets this year.

Over the years, Talamo has received investment from Simon Rogerson, Simon Squibb and Sam Thompson, won an Innovate UK grant, been endorsed by the British Dyslexia Association, won the BCG Social Impact Accelerator, been featured on BBC News, addressed a parliamentary committee, and hosted our own SEND conference at LSE.

We are now looking for someone brilliant to help us seize more opportunities, move faster, and free up more of the founders’ time.

The Role

We are looking for a Founders Associate to work closely with Jamie and Leo, Talamo’s founders, on marketing, growth and day-to-day execution across the company.

This is a broad generalist role. The main focus will be growth: helping more schools discover Talamo, understand the platform’s value, sign up, and follow a clearer journey without always needing a founder-led conversation.

One week you might be coordinating a campaign for a new feature launch. The next, you might be updating case studies, creating an email nurture track, or helping organise an event. The role will be the glue that holds our company together and pushes us forward.

We need someone highly organised, commercially aware, good with words, tech-literate and comfortable working in a fast-moving environment where the role will change as the company grows.

Responsibilities

Sales & Customer Success

  • Create automated processes for converting a prospect into a paying customer.

  • Support existing customers with onboarding and other automated support.

  • Manage the CRM to ensure it’s accurate, segmented and useful.

Operations & Founder Support

  • Automate internal processes to reduce manual work.

  • Champion new technology and share it with the team.

  • Help maintain high standards across the company.

  • Help the founders convert ideas into action plans and execute

Marketing & Content

  • Coordinate and deliver marketing activity across Talamo’s organic channels.

  • Help refine paid growth channels, inc Meta Ads and paid search.

  • Plan campaigns for new feature launches alongside Jamie.

Community & Partnerships

  • Support the organisation of “We Love SENCos”, Talamo’s biannual event for SENCos, inclusion leads, school leaders and the wider SEND community.

  • Support the development of a stronger Talamo community, potentially including a Facebook group, regular community content, school feedback, and a new podcast series or other content formats.

About you

We are open on experience level. You might be early in your career and unusually sharp, or you might have several years of experience and be ready to own more from day one. We care more about behaviours than a perfect CV. We are looking for someone with drive, curiosity, grit and good judgement.

Essential

  • Conscientious, kind and takes pride in their work.

  • Takes the initiative and carves out a role for themselves.

  • Commercially minded and interested in marketing and growth.

  • Tech-literate and confident learning new tools, including AI.

  • Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple moving parts.

  • A strong writer who can communicate clearly.

  • Good at turning vague ideas into next steps.

  • Interested in education, SEND, neurodiversity or social impact.

  • Comfortable in a role that will change as the company grows.

Nice to have (not dealbreakers)

  • Skills with Claude, OpenAI, Cursor, n8n or similar.

  • Experience with paid ads, especially Google Ads or Meta Ads.

  • Experience with CRM tools, email marketing platforms, SEO, analytics or marketing automation.

  • Experience creating content for LinkedIn, newsletters or websites.

  • Design and videography skills.

  • Experience working in a startup, small company or fast-moving environment.

  • Experience in education, schools, SEND or social impact.

Why Talamo?

  • We firmly believe in reward for impact. If you do well for us, you will be rewarded financially and with seniority. We will review salary and bonuses regularly.

  • You will work close to the company's centre, with responsibility and direct exposure to how a business finds product-market fit and scales to the next milestone.

  • The chance to help build a company that could change how children with additional needs are identified and supported.

Application process

Initial interview

A conversation with Jamie to understand your experience, how you work, what motivates you, and whether the role feels like the right fit.

Practical task and feedback

  • Shortlisted candidates will complete a practical task based on a real growth challenge. We will then review the task together a couple of hours later.

  • The task is designed to show how you think, write, prioritise, use tools and turn ideas into action.

Final team round

A final conversation with members of the Talamo team. This is a chance for both sides to understand whether there is a strong fit, how you would work with the team, and how the role could develop over time.
