We’re proud to say that TV personality Sam Thompson is an investor in Talamo. His backing was reported in the press in summer 2025, including by NationalWorld and The Devon Daily.

Both pieces were about why we started Talamo. NationalWorld reported that Talamo had already reached 300 schools, as Jamie Oliver called for dyslexia screening in every primary school. The Devon Daily’s profile was about my mission to screen one million children for dyslexia, which began with my own experience of it.

Who is Sam Thompson?

Sam is a television personality and radio presenter. He appeared in Made in Chelsea from 2013 to 2021, won I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! in 2023, and now co-presents its companion show, I’m a Celebrity… Unpacked.

On set for our campaign film

In late September 2025 we spent two days filming a short film about spotting dyslexia early. Sam joined us on the first day. On the second, Frankie Bridge spent the day with pupils at William Ford C of E Junior School in Dagenham, which you can read about in Frankie Bridge and Talamo.

Sam’s part of the shoot was an interview, and the photo at the top of this post was taken while I was asking the questions.

The finished film, Talamo Dyslexia Day Campaign, runs for about a minute and a half. You’ll also find it on our For parents page.

Why it matters to us

Many parents only start thinking about dyslexia screening once something is already worrying them: homework that ends in tears, or a reading book that never seems to get easier. A familiar face can start that conversation sooner, and make screening feel like a sensible, ordinary step rather than something to dread.

That’s the idea behind the film. It was made for parents, and we hope that seeing Sam and Frankie talk about it helps more families feel that screening is worth a look.

For parents

If you’re wondering whether your child might be dyslexic, our dyslexia screener can be taken at home. You can see how it works on our For parents page, or look through a sample report first.
